Prior to joining Canvas Ventures, Ben was an institutional seed investor for several years and half of the companies he seeded went on to raise follow-on venture capital.
Ben’s passion for entrepreneurship started at the young age of 12. He ran startups through high school and college before founding Boston Prepatory Company. Thereafter he founded Fashionmall.com, one of the first e-commerce companies on the web and the first cost-per-click based business, which he took public in 1999 on the NASDAQ.
Canvas Venture’s complete portfolio can be viewed here.
Before joining Voyager, Curtis was the first Executive Vice President of the newly formed Stanford Management Company, helping oversee the University’s endowment from 1992 to 2000, when assets under management grew from $1.5 billion to $9 billion.
Since then, Curtis has invested in various data analytics, IoT, enterprise software, data center systems, wireless infrastructure and smart grid technologies. He also has expertise in SaaS, open source, and capital efficient software companies.
Ed has more than 30 years of experience in working with technology companies and is skilled in Commercial Lending, Banking, Credit Analysis, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Capital.
He also holds a BA in history from UC Santa Cruz and an MBA in marketing from Santa Clara University.
