Who Should Attend

Startup founders looking to raise funding. This is an opportunity to pitch a panel of investors and receive constructive quality feedback specific to your company. Also a great opportunity for any founder to fine-tune their pitch delivery for a specific time limit, gain further experience holding a mic and speaking in front of large crowds.

In addition, startup founders and entrepreneurs who are NOT ready to pitch are welcome to attend as audience members and watch. This can be a highly valuable learning experience to better understand the pitch process and what investors look for, and learn from feedback given by the investor panel. Then, apply these learnings to your own startup!

The Pitch Night Format

The Pitch Night event has a limited amount of pitch slots available, so purchase your pitch ticket now before they are all gone. Each startup will have 90-seconds to verbally pitch the investor panel (no pitch deck). Each investor on the panel will then provide feedback to that startup.

At the end of the event the investor panel will choose the best pitch of the night, who will receive one free demo/sponsor table ($75-$100 value) at one of our future events held within the next 30 days.

YASEMIN KLIMAN

Selection Committee Member

Harvard Angels

Yasemin has been an active member of the Harvard Angels where she is part of the Selection Committee. With her investor team she reviews hundreds of angel investment opportunities each year.

An engineer by background, Yasmin was most recently the Head of Marketing for Yahoo Developer Network.

Prior to that she ran product marketing for a number of digital advertising products where she received Yahoo’s Superstar Award for the success of her product launches. She has extensive experience closing deals with Fortune 500 companies.

Yasemin was also the General Manager of the Transportation Industry Solutions at Siebel Systems where she was a member of the Siebel Systems CEO’s Circle.

She was also in charge of the Communications and Media vertical, a $300 million product line for Siebel Systems.

Yasemin was also part of the Information Management Leadership Program at GE Capital and served as an advisor to numerous startups.

She earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and received her undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.

Her expertise and investment interest include search, advertising, social media, social gaming, enterprise software, etc.

Nitin Chopra

Shasta Ventures

Shasta Ventures invests in early-stage enterprise and consumer technology start-ups, including including cloud computing, SaaS, enterprise software, consumer services, marketplaces, commerce, mobile and networked devices.

Other investments include Canva, Crittercism, Doctor on Demand, Dollar Shave Club, Liquid Space, Path, Swipely, Task Rabbit, Threadflip, Whisper, etc.

Nitin has lived and worked in Canada, Germany, USA and India. He worked at BlackBerry‘s enterprise software team where he engineered relationships with leading software vendors and drove products from concept to launch. Prior to that he worked in product marketing for PMC-Sierra.

Dea Wilson

Dea Wilson is the founder of Lifograph, the encyclopedia of people and companies in Silicon Valley and tech.

She is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Silicon Valley Incubator.

As an Executive Director at The VC Network and LifographTV, Dea interviews many prominent VCs, angels, executives and founders in Silicon Valley and tech.

Dea is also business development manager at VC Taskforce.

She has a Master Degree from University of Washington and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Free street parking

Abundant street parking is available for free after 6:00 p.m. in downtown San Jose. Streets closest to Founders Floor with free street parking are Santa Clara St., North Market St. and St. John St.

Free parking garage

Founders Floor will provide a 2 hour free parking voucher to the Market & San Pedro Square Parking Garage. This garage is only one block away from Founders Floor. It’s located at 45 N. Market St., between W. Santa Clara St. and W. St. John St. Upon check-in at the Founders Floor event, make sure you ask for the 2 hour free parking voucher.

Public transportation

VTA Light Rail is right outside our building, and runs every 20 minutes making public transportation fast and easy. 　Both the Mountain View-Winchester and the Alum Rock-Santa Teresa VTA light rail stop at the Santa Clara Station(s) which is located just a block away.
