Fireside Chat with Noam Wasserman

Date: October, 18 2018

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear from brilliant author, Noam Wasserman, who jumped to #1 of the Amazon Bestseller in Management with The Founder’s Dilemma, at our Fireside Chat!

“I guarantee that the price of this book is approximately one-thousandth of what you’ll pay lawyers to clean up your mess if you don’t read it.”Guy Kawasaki, former chief evangelist of Apple

“If you’re starting a new company, you probably already know that a crazy variety of land mines await you. What if you had a map that showed exactly where they are and how to avoid them?” —Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup

Wasserman’s wealth of knowledge about what it takes to create a successful startup comes from a decade researching 10,000 founders (including Evan Williams (Twitter) and Tim Westergren (Pandora). He became the #1 Amazon bestseller in Management and has been in the Strategy bestseller list for half a decade because of his groundbreaking analysis on the decisions faced by a startup’s founding team, early hires, and investors.

It’s no wonder that we hear most entrepreneurs describe Noam Wasserman’s findings from his time lecturing at Harvard Business School as something they didn’t discover soon enough in their career.

We’re excited to bring you access to someone who has paved the way for many successful entrepreneurs, as well as a sneak peek into his next book about to be released, Life is a Startup. The goal is to give entrepreneurs insights into the major decisions that will have to be made and the profound impact that the wrong decisions can have:

  • How to anticipate, avoid, or recover from disastrous mistakes that can splinter a founding team, strip founders of control, and leave founders without a financial payoff for their hard work and innovative ideas
  • How and when to split the equity within the founding team
  • How to recognize when a successful founder-CEO should exit or be fired
  • And so much more, including your questions!

We have a limited number of tickets so if you are a startup founder or entrepreneur, secure yours today – this is a talk you can’t miss!

Dinner and drinks are provided.

The Founder’s Dilemmas

“Harvard Business School professor Noam Wasserman is one of the writers and teachers who best captures the high stakes decisions that entrepreneurs face every day.”–Scott Kirsner, Boston Globe.

Noam Wasserman spent much of his academic career at Harvard Business School where he created a second-year MBA elective, entitled “Founders’ Dilemmas,” which was named one of the top entrepreneurship courses in the country by Inc. magazine. His bestselling book, “The Founder’s Dilemmas: Anticipating and Avoiding the Pitfalls That Can Sink a Startup,” was based on this course and has received multiple national and international awards, including ones from the Independent Publisher’s Association, the Academy of Management, and StartupWeekend.

Before coming to Harvard, he was a Principal and Practice Manager at a management-consulting firm near Washington, D.C. He also worked as a venture capitalist at a firm in Boston. He received a BSE (magna cum laude) in Computer Science and Engineering from Penn, and a BSEcon (magna cum laude) in Corporate Finance and Strategic Management from Wharton. He received an MBA (High Honors) from Harvard Business School, graduating as a Baker Scholar, before getting his PhD from Harvard University.

Noam is now the founding director of the new Founder Central initiative at the University of Southern California.
