Join us for our Pitch Night and Investor Panel Discussion with Perry Ha, Founder of Draper Athena, Bill Reichert, Managing Partner at Garage Tech Ventures and Hermann Eul of Sand Hill Angels.

Perry Ha is the Founder and Managing Director of Draper Athena, a venture capital firm that was launched with Draper Fisher Jurvetson in 2007. The firm focuses on areas such as big data, mobile, robotics and security and has invested in companies such as CallGate, coinplug and OG Planet.

Bill Reichert is Managing Director at Garage Technology Ventures, an early stage VC firm, along with business partner Guy Kawasaki of Apple fame and author of the best selling book, “The Art of the Start.”  Pandora and Simply Hired are just some of the many exits for Garage Tech Ventures.

Hermann Eul is an angel investor with both Sand Hill Angels and Band of Angels, and the ex VP at Intel. After his successful career in multinational corporations, he is now a sought after advisor for boards and industry associations.

The event will start with a round-table discussion where our investors will talk about the fundraising process and what it takes to successfully raise funding.

Whether you are attending as an audience member or have been selected to pitch, all attendees can learn from these investors, their quality feedback and unique insights. Connect with these investors afterward during general networking, and create a relationship with them and their firms.

Perry Ha is the founder and managing director of Draper Athena, a venture capital firm that invests in leading technology startups and exceptional founders around the world. He has been an active venture investor since 1997, and has invested and served on the board of many successful companies including: iPivot (acq by Intel), Demandtec (IPO then acq by IBM), Imparto Software (acq by PKS), ProfitLogic (acq by Oracle), and Zantaz (acq by Autonomy). He also served as interim CEO in two different companies.

Prior to Draper Athena, he was a management consultant at Gemini Consulting advising Fortune 1000 clients to better manage technology portfolios and develop new products.

Bill Reichert

Bill Reichert has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and operating executive. Since joining Garage in 1998, Bill has focused on early-stage information technology and materials science companies. He has been a board director or board observer at CaseStack, WhiteHat Security, ClearFuels Technology, Simply Hired, MiaSole, D.light Design, ThermoCeramix, and VisaNow, among others.

Prior to Garage, Bill was a co-founder or senior executive in several venture-backed technology startups, including Trademark Software, The Learning Company, and Academic Systems. Earlier in his career, he worked at McKinsey & Company, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and the World Bank. Bill earned a B.A. at Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He was a founding board member and a Chairman of the Churchill Club, and a Board Member of the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs. Currently he is the Chairman of the Small Fund Roundtable of the VC Taskforce and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.

Hermann Eul is an Angel Investor for both Sand Hill Angels and Band of Angels and is an independent board member for a number of different organizations such as Tactual Labs Corp., Valens Ltd., Locata Corp., and VDE.

He is a seasoned executive with a background in telecommunications, automotive, industry, and security. After his successful career in multinational corporations, he is now sought after for advisory roles such as independent member in board of directors or board of advisors or industry associations. As an angel investor he is engaged in the Silicon Valley as well as Munich/Germany to transform innovations into businesses.

Who Should Attend

Startup founders looking to raise funding.  This is an opportunity to pitch a panel of investors and receive constructive, quality feedback that’s specific to your company.  This is also a great opportunity for any founder to fine-tune their pitch delivery for a specific time limit, gain further experience holding a mic, and speaking in front of large crowds.

In addition, startup founders and entrepreneurs who are NOT ready to pitch are welcome to attend as audience members. This can be a highly valuable learning experience to better understand the pitch process and what investors look for as well as learn from feedback given by the investor panel, then, apply these learnings to your own startup!

Free street parking

Abundant street parking is available for free after 6:00 p.m. in downtown San Jose. Streets closest to Founders Floor with free street parking are Santa Clara St., North Market St. and St. John St.

Free parking garage

Founders Floor will provide a 2 hour free parking voucher to the Market & San Pedro Square Parking Garage. This garage is only one block away from Founders Floor. It’s located at 45 N. Market St., between W. Santa Clara St. and W. St. John St. Upon check-in at the Founders Floor event, make sure you ask for the 2 hour free parking voucher.

Public transportation

VTA Light Rail is right outside our building, and runs every 20 minutes making public transportation fast and easy.  Both the Mountain View-Winchester and the Alum Rock-Santa Teresa VTA light rail stop at the Santa Clara Station(s) which is located just a block away.
