Many know of Randy as an early Board member of Yahoo, helping Jerry Yang and David Filo to secure their initial funding for Yahoo from Sequoia Capital.  But what you might not know is Randy also managed the team which invented Adobe Acrobat and the PDF.  He was also employee #15 at NeXT Inc. working directly with Steve Jobs and has lots of “Steve Stories.”  And, Randy also cofounded the Emmy award winning site FunnyOrDie with comedian Will Ferrell.

Randy Adams is a serial entrepreneur who has founded eight venture-backed technology companies in Silicon Valley and Hollywood.

Randy has raised more than $250 million in venture capital and returned more than $2 billion to investors.

He has served as Board Director at Yahoo, Co-founder and Board Director at FunnyOrDie.com (with Will Ferrell), Co-founder and CEO at WTF Studios (with Marlon Wayans), President of the Home Shopping Network (Internet Division), Director of Engineering at Adobe Systems and Lead Designer at Steve Job’s NeXT.

Some of his notable accomplishments include:

– the invention of the first desktop publishing application for the PC

– the invention of PDF and Acrobat while the Director of Software Engineering at Adobe Systems

– development of the Objective C toolbox at NeXT as one of the original NeXT software team member

– the creation of the world’s first e-commerce website and the development of it into the first acquisition by Barry Diller in what was to become IAC

– served on the Board of Directors for Yahoo

– cofounding and serving on the Board of Directors of FunnyOrDie.com (with comedian Will Ferrell)

– cofounding and serving as CEO of Marlon Wayans’ WhatTheFunny.com

Randy has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Abundant street parking is available for free after 6:00 p.m. in downtown San Jose. Streets closest to Founders Floor with free street parking are Santa Clara St., North Market St. and St. John St.

Free parking garage

Founders Floor will provide a 2 hour free parking voucher to the Market & San Pedro Square Parking Garage. This garage is only one block away from Founders Floor. It’s located at 45 N. Market St., between W. Santa Clara St. and W. St. John St. Upon check-in at the Founders Floor event, make sure you ask for the 2 hour free parking voucher.

Public transportation

VTA Light Rail is right outside our building, and runs every 20 minutes making public transportation fast and easy.  Both the Mountain View-Winchester and the Alum Rock-Santa Teresa VTA light rail stop at the Santa Clara Station(s) which is located just a block away.
